Netiquette
is a combination of “network” and “etiquette” and it refers to the set of
social conventions, rules, and guidelines of respectful and appropriate
behavior when communicating and interacting on the internet
Rules of Netiquette

Remember the Human: Everything you
read or write online is seen by real people with feelings. Follow the golden
rule and treat others as you would like to be.

behavior online that you follow in real life: Be ethical and lawful. Your online conduct should be no
less respectful than your in person conduct

community to another “Lurk” first to get a feel for the local culture

post and emails concise and to the point. Don’t waste other’s time by posting
irrelevant or excessively large content

writing. Use proper grammar and spelling, be clear and logical, and be pleasant

its wealth of information. Share what you know and help others when possible.

of angry or abusive messages. Do not feed the fire; instead try to redirect the discussion in a more productive direction
